Muckross House, Gardens & Traditional Farms
Killarney National Park's main attraction, this beautiful house, was built in 1839-1843. Queen Victoria stayed here. The gardens are world renowned for their splendour and grandeur.
Muckross Abbey
Built by the local Chieftan, McCarthy Mor, for the Franciscians in 1448 it remained for centuries an important center of religious culture until sacked by Cromwell in 1652. A visit there today is an enchanting and spellbinding experience.
Torc Waterfall
Gushing mountain falls, especially after rainfall, this attraction never fails to disappoint. A short path leads to this natural wonder.
Muckross Traditional Farms
Step back in time to Ireland in bygone years. Experience how everyday life was for the Irish centuries ago. Farming and household skills of yesteryear are on display. This is a functioning farm as worked before the time of mechanisation.

We are happy to advise you on a choice of routes. Choose to cycle around the town, visit Ross Castle and the lakes in the vicinity, or venture a little further. Muckross, in the heart of Killarney National Park is an ideal location for a days cycling.
Leaving Killarney town, cycling along the Muckross road and over the Flesk bridge. At this point you can cross the road to the cycling path which will lead you directly into the National Park.
Bear in mind that Jaunting cars and walkers also use this path. The paths travel alongside the road for about a kilometre, before veering right into the Yew Valley Wood and towards the 15th century Muckross Abbey.
Take time at the abbey and explore the well-preserved ruins and vaulted cloister. Choose your route and simply enjoy stunning Killarney.
